Chicago O’Hare awards Park Assist camera guidance system contract

Park Assist has been awarded a contract to install its camera based parking guidance system at Chicago O’Hare International Airport’s newest parking garage.

Chicago O’Hare is the US’s third and the world’s sixth busiest airport, serving nearly 80 million passengers in 2017. Park Assist contracted with Gibson Electric & Technology Solutions to address navigational guidance needs in the garage.

The M4 camera-based smart sensor system will be installed on two levels located above the Consolidated Rental Car Facility (CONRAC) as part of a Public Parking Garage at the airport.

Gibson chose Park Assist’s PGS technology and software to ensure the most effortless parking experience for passengers parking their vehicles. The system will also help guide visitors easily to their car upon re-entry into the lot with its Find Your Car feature.

By simply typing in their license plate number, or at least three characters, visitors will be directed to their vehicle’s exact space thanks to Park Assist’s patented M4 camera-based parking guidance system with integrated License Plate Recognition (LPR) technology.

Park Assist chief executive officer, Gary Neff said: “We are excited to have the opportunity to install our system in the CONRAC garage at O’Hare and demonstrate our functionality.

“Park Assist has invested many years to create a system that will improve the customer experience and pleased to partner with Gibson Electric and their client to bring the technology to O’Hare.”
