Kuwait International Airport opens T4

The new Terminal 4 at Kuwait International Airport has reportedly opened and spans 55,000 square metres and can handle 4.5 million passengers per year through its 14 gates.

The news was announced by its operator Incheon International Airport Company (IIAC). IIAC was chosen as the operator after its bid was selected in April.

T4 was inaugurated by HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah more than five months ago. It is set to generate up to $60 million (KWD18.1m) in revenue a year, and boosting the country’s strategy to transform Kuwait into a regional hub for finance and tourism.

The airport is set to further expanded and according to reports in May 2018  construction work on another terminal, T2, had begun. This terminal is expected to cost up to $4.3 billion (KWD1.3bn).
