The runways at Manchester Airport and Liverpool John Lennon Airport were temporarily closed today due to snow and the freezing weather conditions.

Manchester Airport tweeted from their Twitter account that the airport’s airfield team is working to clear the snow and added: “Please check the status of your flight with your airline before travelling to the airport. The Runway Visitor Park will be closed today whilst we focus our efforts on our core operations.”

Liverpool Airport tweeted: “Due to snow, the runway is temporarily closed- the airport is open. Visit or contact your airline for flight info.”
