ACI-NA calls on US government to address airport infrastructure needs

The Airports Council International – North America has called on the US government and Trump administration to clearly address the infrastructural needs of US airports and manage a way for those needs to be funded.

The council stated that a number of burdens need to be resolved that are hampering the needs of airports in regards to improving infrastructure.

The council said that a clear funding mechanism needs to be put in place to airports can build what they need and improve existing infrastructure.

The council outline a number of specific factors that must be addressed: enhance the airiport improvement program; modernize the passenger facility change program; relieve costly-land-use regulatory burdens on airports; help airports finance critical infrstuctue projects with bonds and establish an airport security grant program.
