An Aer Lingus aircraft recently collided with a concrete pillar at San Francisco Airport leaving passengers waiting on the runway for nearly an hour.

The aircraft collided with the pillar overnight as it was being towing to its arrival gate after leaving from Dublin Airport at lunchtime.

The Aer Lingus plane, an A330 reportedly sustained some damage on the apron, according to The Independent in Ireland. The return flight was cancelled, disrupting the scheduled service.

Passengers and staff were stuck aboard the aircraft while necessary safety checks and an assessment was conducted. The plane was then towed to its arrival gate.
