Bottega’s prosecco ‘minis’ range gains sales across 13 airlines

Bottega Spa introduced 20cl bottles of its Bottega Gold and Bottega Rose Gold to 13 airlines last year, bringing its total number of airline listings up to 27.

Bottega Gold 20cl is now available when flying with easyJet, Air Iceland Connect, Virgin Australia and more and Bottega’s small format bottles were taken on by several other rail operators last year, including Virgin Trains, Great Western, and TGV in France.

Sandro Bottega, owner and managing director of Bottega Spa, said: “Our 20cl bottles are proving a valuable addition to our range. They tap into the increasing trend for ‘treating’ and ‘instant gratification’ and have particular appeal to the all-important millennial consumer. They are of course ideally suited for the travel market as they are easy to handle and serve on board and are perfect for passengers looking for a single serving of Prosecco.”

Bottega, a family owned company located in Bibano, Treviso, 45 km north of Venice, producing premium quality, typical Italian wines, grappa, spirits and food products since 1977. Offering four wines in the smaller 20cl format—Bottega Gold, Bottega Rose Gold, Il Vino dei Poeti Prosecco DOC Brut, and Il Vino dell’Amore Petalo Moscato— which are available in a range of packs with two, four and six bottles.

The group also runs a winery in Valpolicella and one in Montalcino: here, the great red wines of the Veneto and Tuscany, including Amarone and Brunello, are produced. The company manages several different brands, amongst which are Alexander, Bottega and Cantina dei Poeti.

Prosecco has seen a rapid rise in popularity across the world over the last 10 years, paving the way to increased consumption of Italian sparkling wines both at home and while travelling.
