Turkish ground handler Celebi has signed an agreement for a 50 per cent partnership in India-based KSU Aviation – which will provide taxi-ing services to airlines at Delhi Indira Gandhi Airport.
As part of the agreement, Celebi will be making a capital payment of around 320 million Indian Rupees (€4.1 million). It signed the deal with Ashwani Khanna and Zaheda Khanna, the founders and shareholders of the KSU Company.
KSU will also make an investment of about €6 million in equipment over the next five years for taxi-ing services at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi Airport at a time. KSU’s average annual turnover is expected to be about €3.5 million.
The move marks continued expansion by Celebi Aviation Holding India, the Indian arm of the Turkish ground handler, as it has won new contracts at various airports in India.
The company now provides services in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru and also operates in other smaller cities and recently won the ground handling license for Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) for a period of 10 years.
