Cork Airport was temporarily closed yesterday after the tire of a business jet burst on the runway before take-off.
As the jet was ready to depart the south-western Irish city, a tire on the aircraft burst leaving the airport to use a crane to remove it from the runway.
Cork Airport’s fire service was sent to assist with the aircraft; no injuries were reported at the airport.
Some flights were cancelled out of the airport, with passengers being informed that all flights would be delayed by a minimum of two hours.
All passengers were told to check the status of their flight.
