UK investigative data has demonstrated that earlier this year a drone was flown within ten feet of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner as it made its approach to London Heathrow’s runway.
The aircraft was approaching Heathrow airport at an altitude of 3,200 feet when the drone flew extremely close.
The report by the UK Airprox Board stated that the object flew below the right wing of the plane, just missing a collision with the 787’s engine.
It was not specified which carrier was operating the 787 Dreamliner on the route.
