Emirates apologises after epileptic child asked to leave plane

Emirates has offered an apology after it was reported that the airline asked a child with epilepsy to abandon the flight they were on.

The child, of 17, was on a flight with family between Dubai and France. According to Gulf News, the family were asked to disembark the flight after learning that the child had the disability.

It was reported that the child’s mother had requested an empty seat next to her son in case he had a seizure.

The airline offered an apology to the family and stated that the crew operated in the best interest of the other passengers’ safety in asking the family to leave.

Emirates offered to book a hotel for the family and also offer them a re-booked flight.
