GCG Ground acquires ground services provider Caribbean Dispatch Services

Latin American ground handling service provider GCG Ground has expanded its business with the acquisition of Caribbean Dispatch Services (CDSL) in St Lucia.

CDSL provides a full suite of ground handling services at Hewanorra International Airport in St Lucia, for the likes of Air Canada, British Airways, JetBlue Airways, Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, United Airlines, Virgin Atlantic, WestJet, Thomas Cook Airlines, TUI Airways and Sunwing Airlines.

The company’s 234-strong workforce is reportedly set to remain unaffected by the acquisition which was finalised on 20 August. No financial details of the deal were revealed.

GCG Ground is a division of Goddard Enterprises and managing director Anthony Ali said both organisations will benefit by the association.

GCG has operated in St Lucia since 1987 through its catering unit, Goddard Catering Group. Goddard Enterprises employs 4,200 employees across the Caribbean and Latin America.

CDSL has been providing ground handling services at Hewanorra International Airport since 1994 and is now the sixth airport in the Caribbean and Latin America where GCG Ground provides services. These include in Jamaica, Costa Rica, the Virgin Islands, and three stations in Florida, USA.
