Passengers travelling to Dubai from Goa were stranded for nearly two hours after a catering vehicle and a ground handling vehicle collided with each other leaving a ground handling staffer was severly injured at Dabolim airport on Thursday evening.
The incident took place soon after the landing of a Dubai-bound Bangalore Goa Air India around 5.45 pm on Thursday evening.
The unnamed ground handler was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition
“A catering vehicle and a ground handling vehicle, which were approaching towards the aircraft, had a minor collision resulting in a ground handling staffer getting injured,” disclosed an airport employee.
It is being claimed, but yet unverified, that the incident took place due to “failure of hydraulic movement” of catering vehicle which was approaching towards a nearby aircraft.
There was no damage caused to the aircraft as the incident occurred few seconds prior to docking.
