Ground support equipment (GSE) manufacturer Mallaghan has unveiled its new airport bus at this year’s Inter Airport Europe trade fair in Munich.

The company, known for catering trucks, passenger stairs, medical lifts and a variety of other GSE products, made the announcement alongside Adrian Dunne of Ryanair, the launch customer for the new bus.

“We are delighted to be the launch customer for this bus,” said Dunne, director of operations, Ryanair. “We have purchased 32 of these buses and we have placed an option on another 20 buses going forward.”

Dunne added that his airline had asked Niall Mallaghan, director of the Irish GSE maker, if he would consider making an airport bus some years ago, highlighting the 20-year business relationship between the two companies.

“Mallaghan started manufacturing GSE in 1990 and many of our customers are standing in front of us today,” said Niall, prior to the grand reveal.

“It’s a new generation for Mallaghan, it’s a new time for us and everybody at the company is absolutely excited, delighted and very proud of what’s underneath this cover.”
