Gul Denge, sales director at Istanbul, Turkey-headquartered DENGE Airport Equipment, tells Airside about how the GSE supplier is looking ahead to better post-pandemic times and is positioning itself to best exploit future opportunities, partly through a recent corporate rebranding
What was the thinking behind your corporate rebranding process?
The goal was to modernise our brand identity and align it with our evolving vision and values.
We wanted to convey our commitment to innovation, reliability and customer satisfaction through a fresh and contemporary visual representation.
When did you make the changes to your logo and other branding? What changes were made?
We implemented the changes to our logo and branding earlier this year. The new logo features a more streamlined and dynamic design that reflects our forward-thinking approach.
We also updated our overall brand elements to create a cohesive and impactful brand identity. We are extremely pleased with the new look as it effectively communicates our values and resonates with our target audience.
Are you making any other changes right now?
As a dynamic and adaptive company, we are constantly seeking opportunities for improvement and growth. We have plans to invest in research and development to enhance our product offerings and explore emerging technologies.
Additionally, we closely monitor new technical regulations to ensure compliance and stay ahead of industry standards. Our ongoing efforts include transitioning to stage 5 engines and expediting the transition processes for our electric equipment. We are committed to staying at the forefront of the industry, providing innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
Is the Turkish GSE market buoyant at the moment? How would it compare to international markets?
The Turkish GSE market is currently experiencing growth and is in line with the upward trajectory of the global aviation industry. Turkey’s strategic geographical location, growing air traffic and increasing investment in aviation infrastructure are contributing to the market’s buoyancy.
Moreover, DENGE has been successful in establishing a strong presence in international markets, catering to a wide range of customers worldwide.
Have you ramped up your manufacturing capacity to meet increased demand post-pandemic? If so, where and how?
Yes, we have increased our manufacturing capacity to meet the growing demand in the post-pandemic period. We have invested in expanding our production facilities, including the completion of a recent expansion of one of our existing factories.
Plus, we have begun the construction of a new factory in a special industrial zone, which is expected to be completed in the near future. These expansions will significantly enhance our manufacturing capabilities and allow us to effectively meet the increased demand.
How do you see the market for GSE changing in the coming months and years? How will you be adapting and adding to your GSE portfolio to meet any new requirements or standards?
The market for GSE is expected to see several significant changes in the coming months and years. We anticipate a greater emphasis on environmental sustainability and enhanced safety standards. In response to these trends, we are actively working on developing more environmentally friendly equipment, and incorporating advanced automation and safety features into our product portfolio.
Our aim is to provide solutions that not only meet industry requirements but also contribute to a greener and safer aviation sector.
