JetBlue has become the first carrier in the country to increase first checked bag charges to an industry high of $30.
The carrier based in New York has increased the charge for a first checked bag from $25 to $30. The change is effective immediately on all bookings.
The move is part of a number of changes introduced by the carrier recently: the fee to check in a second bag increases from $35 to $40 and a third bag from $100 to $150.
JetBlue will now also charge $200 per ticket for it to be changed, up from $150.
