
Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport has been closed today after a US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed while landing.
Passengers are feared to have been killed although there have been no official reports on the number of casualties, but smoke was reported rising from the accident site in images published online.
According to reports, the Bangladeshi carrier aircraft which was on its way from Dhaka reportedly crashed into a football pitch near the airport and then caught fire as it landed in Nepal.
Kathmandu’s airport has been closed while emergency service attended to the crash.
