Krakow Airport chooses The Design Solution to develop commercial space

Kraków John Paul II International Airport has appointed The Design Solution (TDS) to develop all of the commercial spaces across the terminal, which is to be expanded by 2026.

The airport has unveiled a master plan for its long-term development, which includes the expansion of its passenger terminal by 50 per cent, expecting to welcome 12 million passengers per annum.

TDS will be responsible for the expansion’s commercial planning, while the airport selected PIG Architekci to design it.

Passengers will also benefit from a panoramic view over the second zone of the departures lounge.

Robbie Gill, Managing Director at The Design Solution, said: “Many European regional airports have experienced strong traffic growth through the rise of the low cost carriers.

“Kraków is a powerful example of the challenges that such airlines face to simultaneously develop their capacity and ensure that the commercial planning enables them to fully exploit the commercial opportunities provided by that traffic growth.”
