London City Airport host aviation learning event for students

Pupils from three London schools were taught about science and the aviation industry at a recent event hosted and supported by London City Airport.

Around 400 pupils from the London schools were educated at the annual STEM event in the city.

According to the Ilford Recorder, CEO of the airport, Robert Sinclair, stated “At London City Airport, we are acutely aware of the need to attract the best engineering and technology minds to meet the skills challenges of the future.”

“Today is about reaching these school pupils at a formative stage of their education, opening their eyes to the possibilities of STEM, and breaking down historic barriers to accessing these fields.”

It was also announced that a 5000 GBP bursary from the airport would be awarded to London pupils wishing to pursue studies in a STEM subject.
