Lyon Airport showing strong quarter of growth

With an 8.2% increase in passenger traffic during 2018’s first quarter, Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport is going from strength to strength.

More and more travellers are using Lyon-Saint Exupéry. The airport welcomed 2.332 million passengers in this first quarter alone, up 8.2% compared to 2017’s first quarter. Although domestic traffic was up by a healthy 5.6% (33.4% of the market share), it is international traffic that continues to drive this growth, with a 9.2% increase, representing 67% of total traffic on site.

For Europe, the results are excellent (up 7.1%), while North America and North Africa have shown remarkable increases of over 20%, and Turkey is close to 30%. With higher load factors and 27 airline openings throughout 2018, it promises to be an excellent year.

In France, traffic increased in all 12 airports managed by VINCI Airports (up 10.6%) with a total of 4.2 million passengers welcomed.
