Manchester airport hosts Easter activities

Manchester Airport’s Runway Visitor Park is holding a whole host of Easter activities for the entire family to enjoy.

Back by popular demand, the park is running a children’s Flight Academy during the Easter Holidays. Children will have the opportunity to board a real aircraft, whilst learning about the different job roles that help ensure that Manchester Airport runs smoothly 365 days of the year.

The tour will be held in the cabin of a Monarch DC10 aircraft, and outside on the viewing mounds to observe and learn more about the aircraft taking off and landing.

Celebrate Easter Sunday with a twist by dining under the Wings of Concorde. Enjoy a guided Concorde Tour followed by a delicious two course lunch under the wings of this iconic aircraft. The tour gives visitors the chance to board the retired British Airways Concorde, sit in the luxurious leather seats and learn about some of the aircraft’s famous passengers including Michael Jackson & Pavarotti.

Visit the flight deck to discover some of the features that made Concorde so unique, before walking beneath Concorde’s wings. Everyone on the tour will also receive a small Concorde keepsake to help them to remember the day.

To continue the Easter fun, from Good Friday through to Easter Monday all visitors are welcome to join in with the Park’s Giant Easter Egg Hunt. Find all the bunnies hidden across the Park to win an Easter treat and the chance to win a hamper of Easter goodies. There will also be fairground rides and bouncy castles for all the family to enjoy.

For those not touring the Concorde or taking part in the Flight Academy, the park enables aviation enthusiasts to watch the take offs and landings of the hundreds of daily flights at the airport from its elevated viewing spots. There is also a play area, restaurant and gift shop to pick up a memento of their visit.
