Manchester Airport suffers power outage in T2

Manchester Airport was recently disrupted by a power cut that saw passengers in its Terminal 2 in darkness and without communications.

The power cut lasted two hours and largely affected T2 of the airport. Power was restored around 10pm UK local time.

The BBC reported that one passenger at the airport said employees were unable to offload aircraft and passenger bridges were not in use.

Other passengers were reported to be stranded with young children without any idea what was going on.

The airport stated that the power cut was due to a HV power cable becoming interrupted. Manchester Airport apologised for the incident.
