Tokyo’s Narita Airport is hiring more foreigners as it aims to cope with growing demand with inbound passenger numbers.
While promoting inbound tourism from other countries, the busy airport in Japan is hiring foreign airport workers to accommodate growing numbers of passengers flying in from other countries, according to national media in the country.
Japan, in particular Tokyo, is aiming to boost foreign tourist visits to the country in anticipation of Tokyo’s hosting of the 2020 Summer and Paralympic Games.
According to the report, the airport is seeking to attract 40m visitors by 2020, when the Olympics begin.
It is also stated that the transport ministry is looking to create a new visa status to expand foreign employment at airports in the whole country.
Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of the country, has established inbound tourism as a tenet of his overall growth strategy for Japan.
