Nigerian refinery to offer aviation fuel by 2020

Source: CNBC Africa.

A new major oil refinery in Lekki Lagos, Nigeria is set to offer fuel for aviation by 2020.

The Dangote refinery will sell petrol, diesel and aviation fuel in less than two years time.

The refinery will cost $10bn to construct and aims to become one of the world’s largest current oil refineries.

It is anticipated that the refinery will produce 650,000 barrels of crude oil per day and the refinery will be near full capacity in less than two years time.

The group director of the refinery and the man whom the oil site is named after, Aliko Dangote, stated to Bloomberg that the refinery can transform Nigeria by producing oil rather than relying on imports.
