Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna, India, is set to receive a rubber removal, FOD machine from the airports authority in the country following added traffic numbers.
According to a report by the Times of India, the airports director of Patna Airport, noted: “Rubber is removed from the runway whenever required.
The build-up of rubber affects the level of friction of the runway which may cause reduction in braking and ground handling performances”.
The director noted that a recent surge in air traffic necessitated the delivery of a new machine.
It is worth noting that the purchase is planned and the deal has not been finalized.
