German gateway Stuttgart Airport has up to 400 daily flight movements.
The German Air Traffic Control (DFS) monitors aircraft on their way, on arrival and departure and air traffic controllers route the pilots on precisely defined air tracks.
On peak days, they guide more than 11,000 flights through German airspace.
