Rushlift GSE selects Yokohama to supply Gatwick tyres

Ground support equipment (GSE) provider Rushlift has announced an agreement with Yokohama for the rubber company to provide the tyres for its Gatwick Airport vehicles.

The 450-strong fleet of cars, vans and minibuses will be supplied with BluEarth-Van RY55 and Geolandar G015 A/T tyres, in the first airport agreement for the tyre manufacturer.

“As you can imagine, airport environments rely on seamless logistics which can be severely affected by vehicle downtime. We’re very pleased that Rushlift has become the latest in a growing number of fleets who trust in Yokohama to equip their vehicles,” said Tony Valentine, fleet and national account manager at Yokohama.

The BluEarth-Van RY55 tyre has become a popular choice thanks to its fuel saving and sustainable features, while the Geolandar G015 A/T is a more specialist tyre, designed to endure wet and wintry conditions.

Rushlift’s entire fleet at Gatwick will be fitted with the two tyre models, in vehicles fanging from Ford Transit minibuses to caddy support vehicles, all serviced in Slough.

“Yokohama is a first class product with excellent customer service at competitive prices,” said Stewart Salmon, regional operations manager at Rushlift.
