Southwest stop serving peanuts on board after allergy concerns

Southwest Airlines is to stop serving peanuts on its flights after concerns over its passengers allergies.

At the beginning of August, the US-based airline will discontinue peanuts on its flights. Those passengers with nut allergies can be put in life-threatening danger should they be exposed to the snack.

As reported in CNBC Southwest stated: “To ensure the best on-board experience for everyone, especially for customers with peanut-related allergies, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue serving peanuts on all flights beginning Aug. 1”.

Southwest is following suit after American Airlines and United have both banned peanuts on its flights.
