Sovam president leaves to focus on developing own GSE venture

Ground support equipment (GSE) manufacturer Sovam has announced its president and CEO, Tim Rane, is leaving the company to focus on his own business venture, AirGSE.

In a statement, Sovam acknowledged the progress it made under Rane’s leadership since the company was acquired by Abbey International Finance Limited two years ago, and announced a management restructure to more closely align the business and the Group.

“Tim’s vast knowledge of the GSE sector has been instrumental in the achievements of Sovam over the last two years,” said Dermot Lanigan, Director, Abbey International Finance.

“We would like to thank Tim for taking Sovam through the first phase of its relaunch and wish him well with the growth of AirGSE.”

The role of president is to be filled by Lanigan moving forward, with new Sovam appointment at managing director, Alain Peru, to report directly to the Abbey International director.

Lanigan added the restructure was announced to enable Rane to focus on the development of his own company, AirGSE limited, which specialises in providing financing and rental solutions for the aircraft GSE industry.
