Ground handling company Swissport appoints Dr Peter Waller as their new Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Dr Christian Göseke, who informed Swissport of his intention to leave the company.

Waller, joining from CEVA Logistics AG, will also become a member of Group Executive Management, assuming his dual roles on 1 September 2019.

“We are delighted to win Peter Waller as the new CFO for Swissport,” says Eric Born, President & CEO of Swissport International AG.

“In addition to his financial expertise, Peter can draw on years of experience in the travel and logistics industry. I look forward to having him on board.”

Besides his CFO role at CEVA Logistics AG, where he oversaw significant performance improvements and managed the IPO, Waller was CFO at Eurofins Scientific and spent eight years at Thomas Cook, assuming numerous duties, including CFO.

Prior to his travel logistics career, Waller received a Master in Management from the University of Mannheim and ESSEC Business School in Paris and a PhD in Strategy from the University of Paderborn in Germany.

Waller will work closely with Göseke during the transition period to ensure a smooth changeover and stable handover of responsibilities.

“In his three years as Swissport CFO, Christian Göseke worked tirelessly to support the company’s profitable growth and make Swissport fit for the future,” says Born.

“On behalf of my colleagues of the Group Executive Management and the Board of Directors of Swissport, I thank Christian for his invaluable contributions and his great commitment. I wish him the very best for his future.
