Syrian refugee stranded in airport for over four months

A Syrian man has been stranded in Kuala Lumpur International Airport for over four months after refusing to join the Syrian military.

Hassan Al Kontar has been in the airport in Malaysia since March 7th, 2018.

The Syrian man is a refugee of his country as he refused to join the Syrian military due to his pacifistic beliefs.

The man is stranded in the airport in an odd legal standing. Originally from Syria, he worked in the UAE for a while until gaining a tourist visa for Malaysia which has since expired.

The Syrian man has taken to Twitter to state his case.
