A Far Eastern Air Transport aircraft suffered an engine failure midair recently, the safety council in the nation stated.
The airline, based in Taiwan, sent a distress signal while in descent into Taipei Songshan airport. It was returning from Penghu.
The plane landed safely at the airport with no incident yet the engine was reported to have been damaged.
An investigation is ongoing into the incident.
