An explosion close to Bologna Airport in Italy has killed at least two people with dozens injured.
Seventy people have been reported as injured so far, with the explosion claiming the lives of two people.
A petrol tanker was apparently the cause of the explosion after it crashed into another car which brought a nearby motorway crashing down onto vehicle owners below.
ANSA reported that the truck was carrying explosive materials.
Reverberations were felt in the Italian airport’s terminal as the explosive fireball reached high into the air.
Below, a social media post submitted by someone apparently at the scene, shows the extent of the huge explosion.

It is understood that the airport itself has not been affected and passengers are safe in its terminal. Flights are running regularly according to the airport in a post seen below.
