Brownies, the UK girl guides group and community, has launched a new drive to encourage future female pilots.

The new initiative involves members of the girl guides performing aeronautical experiments and being able to name 40 things related to aviation.

According to the BBC, only 3% of commercial pilots worldwide are female.

easyJet are championing the drive for more female pilots stating that it wishes 20% of new entrant pilots to be female in the next two years.

The initiative was announced back in March 2018, with its launch this summer. The new badge programme will be backed and sponsored by easyJet.
