US storm: Hundreds of flights cancelled as east coast waits

Hundreds of flights are being cancelled in the US as a huge storm, Florence, heads towards the country’s east coast.

Nearly 900 flights have been cancelled in the country as the storm approaches this week.

Around fourteen-thousand flights have also suffered delays due to the weather.

Big and small airports between the states of Georgia and Virginia have announced cancellations or other delays.

Airports along the Carolina coast, which is set to be affected badly, will cease operations until the storm has reached the inland.
