Vanderlande to bring new baggage logistics innovation to inter airport 2019

Airport logistics automation company Vanderlande has announced it will showcase its latest end-to-end baggage logistics approach – BAGFLOW – at this year’s inter airport Europe in Munich.

The new development is described by the company as a “scalable and modular” concept, that seamlessly integrates the complete journey of a bag.

“The focus of this year’s inter airport Europe clearly indicates how relevant our ideas and solutions continue to be in this ever-changing industry,” said Vanderlande’s Board Member and Executive Vice President Airports Andrew Manship.

“We’re excited to be a part of the ongoing discussion and to see how we can contribute to the ‘airport of the future’. By uniting the different stakeholders involved, we are confident that BAGFLOW will help airports to improve their overall baggage performance, while PAX CHECKPOINT is the ideal step towards enhancing the experience for all travellers.”

PAX CHECKPOINT refers to the virtual reality (VR) passenger checkpoint solution Vanderlande has developed to help airports respond to growing security requirements and deliver a pleasant passenger experience.

This year’s inter airport Europe will focus on the rising demand for digitization and automation, trends that offer significant opportunities for the aviation industry.

Vanderlande has hopes of standing out in this regard, with its BAGFLOW concept nominated for the inter airport Europe Excellence Awards in the interFUTURE Special Award category.
